Curfews was started by Corey Sustarich in early 2017 during one of Marquette, MI's fabled winters. After a few lineup changes while in the Upper Peninsula, Corey and drummer Spencer Higgins underwent a drastic change in scenery with a move to Santa Cruz, CA. They spent a year or so playing shows around the Bay Area before Corey then made the Curfews name his own and moved up the coast to Portland, OR where he would start the process of recording "Stunted." Corey recruited the help of occasional live drummer Nicholas Erickson (The God Eaters, Charmer) and German audio engineer Alex Pojda to put the finishing touches on the songs. The finished result is four songs that vary in tone but still feel very cohesive as a unit. "Stunted" blends the lo-fi indie-rock aesthetic of the 90's with the feel of something Exploding in Sound Records would've released in their early years.
